As I am pursuing my graduate study majoring in Telecommunications through an Accelerated INTO Pathway program at George Mason University. My course work includes 13 credits in which 4 credits belong to EAP-508, 3 credits for PROV-504 and 6 credits are inclined towards my major. My major subjects include TCOM-500, TCOM-501 and TCOM-502. My journey began with a positive and fun experience being a part of INTO Mason. The program helped me set a clear path and encouraged me to walk towards the goal with no turning back.
In PROV-504 I have learnt how to manage time, work under stress, think critically and analyze accordingly. It taught us on how to be a better part of the western education by teaching us not to plagiarize and believe in our own instincts. It helped in gaining knowledge on the academic course work due to which I was able to plan my course of study. The presentations such as GMU event- Oral Reflective and Transition Readiness presentations helped me survive the real world by means of communication.
The EAP-504 course constitutes a graduate classroom language portfolio project which includes annotations, discussions and analytical summary. Summaries tend to have positive effect that teaches us to analyze and draw conclusions. The six scholarly articles that are to be annotated, questioned and summarize helped us understand what an article is! Working with Microsoft tools was fun and presenting an article in the class have made me stronger and confident enough to express my ideas and put forth my doubts irrespective of how small the doubt is. The Multi-Disciplinary Colloquium project was based on researching a topic related to my course work. I worked on a topic named Li-Fi and amazed on the depth of the knowledge that we can gain through research and the literature review.
In conclusion, the subjects that I dealt with in the pathway program made me ready to the face the challenges and compete the world to the best of my efforts and capabilities. In trust with the experience and knowledge gained I hope that I will be successful in the future endeavors that I choose for myself.
